Christopher Foster: Fear is lost energy that wants to come home

The Secret Promise of Aging: Finding Meaning, Inner Joy and Peace As Years Fly By
By Christopher Foster

I am certainly not free of fear. Anxious feelings still arise. Perhaps none of us can be truly free of fear as long as we live in a fearful world. But as I become more conscious of a source of peace in myself that does not change and does not come and go, an underlying sense of calm deepens, and it is one of the most exciting experiences of my life.

I love the notion that fear  fearsome and threatening though it may appear at times  can actually help us heal if we stop resisting it and begin to see fear in a new light. Fear is lost energy that wants to come home. It is a friend who wants to help us become whole.
